ODAIR ASSAD

The Assad guitar duo from Brazil wrote guitar history. Grammy Award-winning and world-renowned brothers Odair and Sergio Assad set standards of technique and style that have inspired generations of guitarists. But also as soloists they carry their audience with them. Odair Assad began his solo career in New York in 2008 with the premiere of the "Sonata del Caminante" by the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, who dedicated the work to him. He has played with leading orchestras and collaborated with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Gidon Kremer, Dawn Upshaw and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. Odair Assad has lived in Belgium for many years and holds the guitar chair at the Royal Conservatory of Mons - Ecole Supérieure des Arts.
